Presentation Schedule
I recieved my Naturopathic Doctor degree from Trinity College of Natural Health. I am a Certified Body Ecologist and a Certified Natural Health Professional. I studied the full spectrum of Natural Health, but focus on certain specialized areas of Natural Health in my practice. Many of my clients have found that modern medicine was not addressing the cause of their disease and found that they were not getting well or feeling well. Others seek me out because they want to be as healthy and natural as possible. Whatever the reason, my clients can be assured that I will work with them on an individual basis to find their unique solution and balance.
Professor of Microbiology OU: "The Human Gut Microbiome. What can it do for you? The gut microbiome is one of the most complex ecosystems know consisting of huge number of bacterial species and contributes tremendously to health and disease processes. This information is now being communicated to the non-scientific community, increasingly on social media platforms. A component of Personalized medicine, involves the sequencing of the individuals genome and microbiome; pivotal to this is on understanding of the complex interactions between both bacteria with each other and also with the host. The presentation will use particular examples to demonstrate the potential of the gut microbiome as a tool in health care."
Education: Degree in Biology, PhD in Biotechnology.
Research Areas:
1) Innovation and improvement in biological control of agricultural pests: (i) improvement of nematodes used in biological control by a genomic approach; ii) identification of new insecticidal and immuno-modulating molecules by a functional proteomics approach; and (ii) nano-formulation of new bio-pesticides.
2) Biotechnological valorization of genetic resources: i) research of new extremophilic enzymes with industrial application; ii) research on new natural molecules with insecticidal and immuno-modulating activity (algae, marine bacteria, bacteria from hydrothermal sources in the Azores); and (ii) use of bacterial consortia for the deconstruction of available biomass and bio-products from the industry (serum, feathers, green waste, algae).
Cyndi Wilson OTA/L: Cyndi is a licensed occupational therapy assistant with over 25 years experience in pediatrics.
